Rebuilding Your Marriage with Love

“How do I love thee?  Let me count the ways.”  Indeed, there are a multitude of ways a person can say “I love you.”  You say it when you give them a big hug and kiss when you greet them at the end of the day.  You say it when you leave a little note for them emblazoned with a heart and with both of your names inscribed inside it.  You say it when you look each other in the eye with a loving gaze and contemplate bliss and warmth together.  You say it just about anytime you do something thoughtful for your spouse that truly means “I love you.”

Indeed, the old saying “actions speak louder than words” could never be more appropriate than when it comes to saying “I love you.”  The deeds we do, our basic actions in everyday life, serve as a basic testament that love for each other means much more then flowers or fancy dinners or trips to the Bahamas.  The simple things, a hug, a kiss, a “hello, I missed you so much”, these are the basic actions in life that many of us fail to do which are fundamental to a healthy, loving relationship.  Without little spontaneous acts of love, a relationship is doomed to failure before it is even given the chance to blossom.

These are not about actions of love that you do once in a blue moon.  They are about embedding these actions of love into your daily routine.  You must feed your relationship on a daily basis with random acts of love.  These random acts of love are what keep relationships from dying.  They are food for the soul.  Love, given on a daily basis, is what sustains all of us.  It is a fundamental fact of life.  Love, after all, truly is what makes the world go round.
