No marriage can survive without the foundation of trust.  This simple truth is so fundamental and basic to a healthy marriage that few of us stop to think about it.  Without a profound respect and faith in each others actions and thoughts, a marriage can not progress and grow.  The same is true with a personal relationship.  A committed relationship, a loving marriage where two people learn to love and grow with each other, can never blossom without the fundamental prerequisite of trust between both partners.

There are a multitude of ways a person can say “I love you.”  You say it when you give them a big hug and kiss when you greet them at the end of the day.  You say it when you leave a little note for them emblazoned with a heart and with both of your names inscribed inside it.  You say it when you look each other in the eye with a loving gaze and contemplate bliss and warmth together.  You say it just about anytime you do something thoughtful for your spouse that truly means “I love you.

Commitment is the foundation of a healthy relationship.  Both partners, committed to the general health and well being of the other, is what it is all about.  Commitment is something that must be renewed on a daily or weekly basis.  Because life throws curve balls at every one of us, it is important to renew your commitment to your spouse.  It is important to keep the channels flowing.
